County staff asked commissioners to remove a proposed release-of-liability related to an automobile accident from the consent agenda so the matter could receive fuller review at the regular meeting. Julie told the board the settlement request arrived late to her office and that the incident, which she said occurred a little over a year ago in Montrose County, involved a hazardous spill the county must ensure is cleaned up; the settlement would pay for that cleanup and the county was being asked to sign the liability component of the agreement.
"I would ask that this item be removed from the consent agenda and put onto the regular agenda because I think I will need to, address it more thoroughly on Wednesday," Julie said, adding she will present additional information before the board makes a decision. Commissioners agreed to move the item to general business for additional review at the upcoming meeting.
