Jeanne Walker told the committee that long-time Department of Public Works director Doug Small has left town employment and that it is not yet known whether he will be replaced. Walker said the committee is working with Dan Maurer on stormwater-management matters while the staffing situation is unresolved.
Walker described the committee’s outreach activities: continuing storm-drain stenciling with the Girl Scouts and an Earth Day demonstration in the Town Hall parking lot where staff and volunteers answered residents’ questions. She said the committee is emphasizing education as part of its stormwater program.
The committee did not take a formal vote on staff replacements or stormwater policy at the May 12 meeting.
