Bonduel board urges state to find a sustainable transportation funding solution

The Village of Bonduel Village Board voted unanimously April 22 to introduce Resolution 2026-03, urging the governor and state Legislature to enact a comprehensive, sustainable transportation funding solution to help municipalities offset rising road- and infrastructure-repair costs.
Trustee Matt Pleshek moved to introduce the resolution; Trustee Brenda Staszak seconded. The board recorded a roll-call vote with all members voting aye: Court, Falk, Pleshek, Staszak, Streetman, Zuleger and President Russ Gehm. Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Maroszek was directed to forward copies of the resolution to the appropriate state officials.
Board members said the resolution is intended to press for long-term, statewide action rather than piecemeal local fixes. The request follows staff reports of recent water-main breaks and scheduled asphalt repairs; municipal operations staff also noted a planned closure of County Road BE for resurfacing May 27–June 1 that will affect local traffic.
The resolution does not commit Bonduel to any local funding changes; it is a formal request for state-level action. The board did not set a follow-up vote at the meeting. The resolution introduction and forwarding of the document to state officials were the immediate outcomes from the April 22 session.
