Council voted by roll call to approve the village’s 2027 tax budget after an earlier public hearing and presentation by interim fiscal staff. Interim staff said the document had been available for review and would be signed and submitted to the county officer.
"I'll make a motion to approve the 2027 budget," a council member said; the motion was seconded and the roll call showed the members present voting in the affirmative.
The council then considered an amendment to the 2026 appropriation ordinance to clean up a handful of funds and to true up amounts associated with the community park project after additional funding had come in and been paid out. A motion to amend the 2026 appropriation ordinance was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
Roll-call responses recorded the council members present (Anna, Eric, Carla/Paul, John) voting yes on both the 2027 tax budget and the amended 2026 appropriation ordinance. Interim fiscal staff (Donna) and the solicitor were thanked for their work preparing the documents; the fiscal officer will sign the budget for submission to the county.
