Eagle River council approves shoulder rock for Silver Lake Road and resurfaces Second Street parking lot

City Administrator Robin Ginner reported that final restoration for Silver Lake Road will include replacing cracked sidewalk panels and installing rock on the north shoulder to prevent further washout; the rock installation was estimated at $3,250 and Ginner said the overall project remained about $40,000 under budget. A motion to approve the change order carried unanimously.
On the Second Street municipal lot (parcel #221-730), the council approved an MSA estimate of $17,000 to remove existing asphalt and replace it with millings and a chipseal surface. Council also approved a separate Fahrner quote of $13,389.13 to add a double chipseal treatment. Motions to accept the MSA estimate and the Fahrner quote passed on roll call votes with all members voting in favor.
The measures are intended to extend pavement life and address current surface deterioration; the city will coordinate scheduling and contractor timelines as the projects proceed.
