Bronx SBDC stresses bookkeeping and planning as key needs for entrepreneurs; launches new site

The Bronx Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers no-cost, confidential business advising and training to entrepreneurs at every stage, Vanessa Joseph, the center's regional director, told BronxNet.
Joseph said the SBDC helps founders with operational budgeting, working capital and succession planning, and that the most common issues clients bring are lack of a business plan and incomplete bookkeeping. "The number 1 topic is always about funding," she said, adding that many entrepreneurs also need help preparing for e-commerce and formation work.
Joseph highlighted recent local successes including Babe Babe Collective and Katie Netcorp and said the center hosted a webinar introducing Tabby AI bookkeeping to help small businesses with recordkeeping. She also announced a new Bronx SBDC website (bronx.nysbdc.org) where clients can book appointments for free advising.
