A volunteer described the effort as ‘‘important for the community, for people who are struggling and people who can't really afford clothes because, you know, the prices go up nowadays.’’
Organizers told the show the drive grew from a desire to help neighbors who do not know what resources are available. A volunteer said, ‘‘If I can help out in any way, that's where I fit in at.’’
Kyrie Moody noted the event is built around giving back and community-led care; people interested in participating next year were directed to contact Miss Shy Shy Bedford on Instagram.
