Commissioner Administrator Purdy presented a separate request tied to rural transit: $1,706,814 in services funding that will allow the county to process INDOT-submitted claims and receive reimbursements. Purdy said the appropriation supports the 2026 rural transit grant process and councilors approved it unanimously.
Auditor Gregory also asked the council to reapprove earlier Waste Reduction District appropriations ($45,199 for building improvements and $69,000 for machinery and equipment) after county staff re-advertised the matter to meet Department of Local Government Finance requirements; the council reapproved the items.
