The Town Council of Clifton reviewed a working draft of the town budget for “FYE 1106” at a work session May 26 at the Mayor’s House, the minutes show. The document and supporting attachments were made available on the town website and on request and were distributed to the current council, the town treasurer, council members-elect and the president of the Clifton Betterment Association.
The minutes say councilmembers made numerous changes to the working draft by consensus during the session and directed staff to prepare a clean copy reflecting those changes. That clean copy is scheduled to be presented as an agenda item at the council’s next regular meeting in June. The minutes do not identify who presented the working document.
Councilmember Wayne Nickum moved to adjourn the meeting; Councilmember Tom Peterson seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes list six councilmembers present: Mike Anton, Tom Peterson, Deborah Dillard, Pat Layden, Wayne Nickum and Chuck Rusnak.
No formal votes on the budget itself are recorded in the minutes; the changes are described as having been made by consensus and a finalized budget will be provided to the council for formal consideration at the June meeting.
