Paramus Pool declines vendor freezer placement, refers membership and hiring questions to manager

The Paramus Pool Commission addressed several community inquiries at its May 28 meeting, declining a vendor offer, clarifying membership discount eligibility and directing staffing and school-trip requests to pool management.
A Dippin Dots representative, identified as Jenn, presented a turnkey freezer-placement program and described its requirements: the company provides a freezer at no charge that must be plugged into a dedicated electrical outlet and the pool would purchase product from the vendor. The commission declined the freezer placement during the meeting.
A resident correspondence from Ms. Singh asked about booking a 10th-birthday party for 12–15 children with three possible dates in June. Commissioners advised the resident to contact the pool manager directly to confirm availability, pricing and contingency plans in case of rain.
On membership, Billy McMongle inquired about family pricing and noted that his wife works for the Borough of Paramus Police Department and that he is an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Commissioners said the household may take the better of the two available discounts (borough employee vs. military) but that only a single discount can be applied to a membership.
Jamie Ng asked that her daughter, Everleigh Ng, who holds a YMCA lifeguard certification and has been a Paramus Pacer for four years, be considered for a lifeguard interview; manager Stephen Trocolar was asked to follow up on hiring and certification documentation. Hanna Marmol, senior clerk typist for the Department of Children and Families Regional School — Bergen Campus, inquired about pricing and program discounts for possible future trips for at-risk youth; Garrett Luna said he would follow up to provide additional information.
Commissioners also discussed sponsorships: borough finance advised the commission that because the pool is treated as a utility it cannot accept corporate sponsorships to underwrite operations, though businesses may sponsor individual pool events. Commissioner Valente was assigned to follow up on sponsorship and event-sponsorship logistics with borough finance.
Follow-up tasks assigned at the meeting include contacting the resident about party booking, staff outreach to lifeguard applicants and a borough-liaison follow-up on DCF school-trip details.
