Select Board approves $6,024 contract to build stone pad and landing for town shed

At the March 12, 2025 town meeting, voters approved an amended warrant article authorizing up to $16,800 for clearing a 50' x 50' area across from the cemetery and placing a 12' x 20' storage shed on a stone pad. On Sept. 16 the Orange Select Board reviewed a contract from Kimba Enterprises to construct an entrance and a 16' x 24' stone pad to receive the 12' x 20' shed.
The contract calls for Kimba Enterprises to perform the work for $6,024 with layout provided by the town Road Agent and construction to occur between fall 2025 and spring 2026, weather and access permitting. Samara Pitre moved to accept the contract; Lucy LaChance seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
Meeting minutes state that the remaining shed costs include the shed itself ($10,244) and estimated legal fees ($532), bringing total project encumbrance to the $16,800 approved by voters. The minutes state that any cost overruns will require Road Agent approval and will be funded from the annual highway budget.
The board signed the related financial reconciliations and recorded the contract acceptance as a formal action. No construction work was reported as started at the meeting; the Road Agent will provide layout and oversee scheduling.
