Selectboard to meet on-site after contractor flags concerns about Archertown Road repairs

Road Agent Ted Nutter told the Selectboard that grading work is about 50% complete after recent equipment breakdowns — a grader and a backhoe — both of which have since been repaired and returned to service.
Nutter reviewed the punch list for Phase I of Archertown Road, noting that most listed repairs have been completed but that outstanding work remains around paving. He said contractor R&D is concerned about attempting repairs if a top coat is not applied; Charles Smith said he suspects the material beneath the asphalt may be the root cause and suggested borings to better understand subgrade conditions. Nutter said R&D will be on site the following day to discuss issues and possible solutions; he urged Selectboard members and Road Committee members to attend that inspection.
No votes were taken. The Selectboard did not set a formal remediation plan at the meeting; follow-up depends on the on-site meeting with R&D and further material testing if requested by the Board.
