Glenburn council approves bank designation, small dormancy transfers and $31,231.52 in bills

Councilmember Dianne Hensen moved to transfer $5 from checking to savings every six months to prevent the savings account from being labeled dormant after notice from First Western Bank; Councilmember Dustin Dewbre seconded and the motion passed with councilmembers Hensen, Hoff and Dewbre voting in the affirmative. Hensen also moved to name First Western Bank and Trust of Minot as the city's depository; that motion passed on an aye vote by Hensen, Dewbre and Hoff.
The council approved the financial report and payment of bills by motion of D. Hensen, seconded by D. Dewbre. The meeting record lists total disbursements of $31,231.52, including notable payments: Upper Souris Water District $5,220.00; Share Corporation $3,445.89; Circle Sanitation $3,329.00; Otter Tail Power $1,724.03; Enerbase $1,670.74; and payroll and taxes (Daryl Dotson and Donna Zeltinger among others). The motion carried on a voice vote (all aye). The council set its next regular meeting for Feb. 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
