Council approves street closures and event permits for August community events

At the July 15 Committee of the Whole meeting, Alderman Tim Dunn reviewed a series of street closure, event and alcohol license requests for August and moved them to the consent agenda after no public comment was offered. The items include downtown event street closures for the Purina Incredible Dog Show (Pershing Avenue, Aug. 14–15), a market on East 2nd Street (Aug. 15), the Village of East Davenport wine walk (Aug. 15), and Farm Days in the Village on Aug. 29–30.
Dunn also listed multiple noise‑variance requests (including a private wedding event at 2504 E. Columbia Ave., Aug. 8) and several liquor license and temporary outdoor area applications: new owner/temporary permits for Katrina Bar and Grill (3559 W. Kimberly Rd.), a temporary extended outdoor area for Carriage House Smokehouse Entertainment, a temporary event license for Wide River Winery LLC (1128 Mound St.), and a new license for Davenport American Legion Post 26. The committee moved the bundle of public safety items to the consent agenda by voice vote.
