Board selects PSI as energy partner, awards Prosser building contract and approves gym audio upgrades

The board approved several facilities and procurement items after staff presentations and discussion.

District facilities staff recommended Performance Services Inc. (PSI) as the district’s guaranteed energy savings provider following a request for proposals. Staff said three companies responded to the RFP, two were interviewed and PSI was chosen as the qualified provider. A staff representative told trustees that selection authorizes the district to work with PSI on future projects, but that specific scopes and budgets will return to the board for approval.

"They would bring scopes and budgets back to us for the board to approve those projects, separately," a facilities presenter stated, noting most large HVAC projects could take two to three summers to complete.

The board also awarded the Phase 2 metal building contract at the Prosser Education Center to AML with a winning bid of $721,180; staff noted funding for that contract would come from the Bank of New York and that the award covers structure only.

Finally, trustees approved purchase and installation proposals for audio and sound systems in the main and auxiliary gyms at New Albany and Floyd Central high schools. Staff explained they used procurement discounts through the district procurement site; one trustee asked for additional time to review the 17-page proposal packet but staff said the materials had been shared by email prior to the meeting.

All three items passed by roll call votes; staff said project-specific budgets and timelines will be presented to the board as each scope is finalized.
