The draft guardrails presented in the workshop state that: board members shall not engage in conduct that contradicts the district’s values of professionalism, respect and ethical leadership; the board must challenge and prioritize student outcome goals and align decisions with the superintendent’s strategic plan; members shall not come to board meetings unprepared; members shall not address stakeholder concerns outside of the superintendent’s communication plan; and members shall not act as individuals on district matters, with decisions to be made by the full board.
Meeting minutes note the drafting occurred "through the evening conversation," signaling collaborative edits rather than a single formal motion. The board recorded the intent to refine the guardrails and bring them back for vote or formal consideration in April. No motions or formal votes on the guardrails were recorded in the workshop minutes.
