Glenburn council to seek joint municipal judge after local judge steps down

Glenburn — Municipal judge Ashley Beall informed the Glenburn City Council on Feb. 4 that she can no longer serve as the city’s municipal judge. Council members directed City Clerk Donna Zeltinger to contact the nearby city of Mohall to explore a joint arrangement for the position.
The matter was raised under new business after council members approved routine agenda items. Beall suggested sharing a judge with another municipality; the council did not adopt a contract or appoint a replacement at the meeting.
Zeltinger was assigned to reach out to Mohall and report back with options and any proposed terms for a joint judicial arrangement. No timetable for a decision was announced.
The council adjourned after completing agenda business. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
