Glenburn council reviews $38,656 street repair quote, flags missing signs on Oakley Drive

Council member Taylor Dotson told the Glenburn City Council on June 3 that the city has a tar-and-chip proposal from contractor Jet Black for $38,656.20 to address multiple streets needs, and that Boger and Sons quoted $4,700 to sweep the town’s streets.
The council learned Oakley Drive is the primary street in need of repair, and Dotson said about 17 signs in town are missing. He said curbs and sidewalks also need attention; the council discussed seeking grant funding or assessing repairs to adjacent property owners. Public works staff Daryl Dotson said he would order replacement signs and try to secure cold patch from Bechtold.
Council member Dave Hoff said the city is still awaiting a detailed follow-up from ND Sewage and Pump on a separate sewer-quote matter and will continue to pursue that. The council did not make a final decision on the Jet Black proposal at the meeting but instructed staff and council members to gather more bids and funding options.
The council’s discussion emphasized prioritizing Oakley Drive repairs and locating short-term fixes (sweeping, cold patch) while pursuing longer-term funding for curb and sidewalk restoration. The council returns to routine infrastructure oversight at its next meeting on July 6.
