Robertson and Walters described how they compiled and verified the signatures and provided a spreadsheet for commissioners to review. Commissioner Dennis Teske moved to accept the petition; Commissioner Todd Devlin seconded the motion, and the record states "all in favor."
Commissioners discussed what comes next: a public hearing and a resolution will follow as part of the statutory formation process for the district. Shane Eaton asked whether BLM land could be part of the district; Commissioner Devlin said the county attorney is soliciting an opinion from the Department of the Interior solicitor's office about including BLM-managed parcels.
