The Turtle Lake City Commission on July 13 approved the minutes from June 11 and the July 2 special meeting, accepted financial reports and bills, and approved adding the commission vice president as a signatory on financial accounts.
Commissioner Rick Schwalk moved to approve the June 11 minutes; Commissioner Angelique Terranova Nakken seconded and the motion passed unanimously. A subsequent motion by Commissioner Terranova Nakken to approve the July 2 special meeting minutes, seconded by Commissioner Schwalk, also passed unanimously. The commission then approved financial reports and bills on a motion by Commissioner Schwalk, seconded by Commissioner Matt Lang.
The commission voted to add the commission vice president as a signatory for the city's financial institutions (motion by Commissioner Schwalk; second by Commissioner Tim Britton; roll call unanimous). Members noted special assessments are due to the county by Sept. 1, 2026, and set a special-assessment meeting for July 27, 2026. Discussion of a post-issuance debt compliance policy and procedures was deferred to the August meeting, and a city maintenance review was moved to a future meeting. The minutes also include acknowledgements for Turtle Days and a Beat Zone/call-for-service report. The meeting adjourned and the next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 10, 2026.
