Juneau library will seek council resolution to acknowledge budget carryover; special revenue account to be reviewed next year

Library Director Connie Schuett told the Juneau Public Library Board of Trustees at its March 11 meeting that she had met virtually with Amanda Blomberg of Baker Tilly and City Treasurer Meagan Buchda to discuss carryover of funds and whether the library should be designated a special revenue account.
Schuett said the board will seek a resolution from the city's Finance committee and the City Council to properly acknowledge the budget carryover. The minutes state the possibility of creating a special revenue account will be reviewed again next year; no final decision was recorded at the March meeting.
The conversation followed presentation of the city's year‑to‑date budget report and the library's treasurer's report earlier in the meeting. Trustees did not record a formal vote on establishing a special revenue account on March 11.
