County executive demands independent investigations after two ICE killings

He also raised concerns that the agents involved were not wearing body cameras and urged independent investigations “conducted by agencies with no chain of command in ICE” so that accountability does not stop at agency press releases. The briefing did not include responses from ICE or federal officials; the county executive framed his remarks as a call for independent, external review rather than new local enforcement action.
The county reiterated that local immigrant residents can access county resources for legal screenings and know‑your‑rights information through the county’s immigrant resource center and an ICE reporting portal maintained by the county.
