Council approves routine business: property sale introduction, road rehab agreement, appointments and licenses

At its July 13 session the Tangipahoa Parish Council handled a slate of routine and consent items.
The council introduced TP Ordinance 26-23 to authorize sale of surplus immovable property at 19451 Highway 40 (District 2) to Keith Wingate and to authorize the parish president or designee to execute transfer documents. The council also adopted Resolution 26-20 authorizing the parish president to sign an intergovernmental agreement with Washington Parish for rehabilitation of Cecil Painter Road, a roadway that crosses parish boundaries; a councilmember noted the project will repair a major crossing that benefits district residents.
The council approved hiring a contractor to cut grass at 48109 Whiskey Lane (Assessment No. 3795802) in District 5 and to lien the property for contract costs plus administrative fees. The council then appointed George Hayes III to Grama Drainage District No. 5 (term expiring July 2030) and approved a retail alcohol license for Amy Chell, LLC at 11119 Louisiana Highway 16 (District 3) for class B beer and class A/B liquor.
All items were moved, seconded and passed on roll call with no substantive debate recorded in the meeting minutes presented to the council. Legal matters were reported as none at this meeting.
