The City of Montrose City Council on July 13 approved several personnel and event-related items by unanimous votes.
Reserve firefighter: The council approved Resolution 2026-34 accepting Finnegan DeWitt as a reserve member of the Montrose Fire Department, effective June 23, 2026. The fire department representative noted that reserve firefighters are not covered under PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association) and that DeWitt will attend Hennepin Technical College's fire-rescue program.
