The Town of Gay council unanimously approved amendments to the general fund June 9 to record GDOT grant funds and to add back a City Hall expense line that had been omitted from the published budget.
Officials said grant funds from GDOT had been deposited into the general account but the appropriate income and expense line items were inadvertently left off the budget, preventing accurate accounting. The amendment adds those line items and restores the City Hall expense item; the omission had been discovered at the prior meeting after an expense was noted with no corresponding line item. After discussion, Council member Pritchett moved to approve the budget amendments and Council member Keith seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Council member Askvig was absent.
The council then reviewed financial documents, again including the City Hall expense line, and approved them by motion of Council member Keith seconded by Council member Pritchett. The minutes do not list grant dollar amounts, account numbers, or departmental assignments for the restored expense line.
