Superintendent says facilities and LPN-program updates will be provided after closed-session personnel decisions

The superintendent of WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS said the board exited executive session with personnel-related decisions and will not disclose the specifics publicly because they concern personnel matters. He told the board staff would verify an updated report with the business office and return with fuller documentation.

The update matters because the district plans several capital and infrastructure projects funded through bond measures and other sources, and officials said they will present details to the board in open session at a later date. "We'll do a full facilities, bond projects update," the superintendent said, listing project priorities.

School staff raised an ongoing LPN program as part of the operational discussion. The superintendent said the program "kind of works year round because of that LPN program going on," and indicated the district will confirm program reporting with the business office.

In his remarks the superintendent listed specific planned projects the district intends to include in the forthcoming facilities update: a water treatment plant in Balesville, an auxiliary practice facility, Westside electrical work in Berlin, construction for a new school, and Gym 4 at the middle school. He said those items and related bond-project details will be presented together so the board and public can review the scope and schedule.

The superintendent also acknowledged school personnel, volunteers, families, agencies and community members who assist students, saying the district will continue work to support them.
