Facilities staff told the board that summer construction projects are on track and provided details on several campus improvements.
The director of operations reported sidewalk repairs and storm grading by the parking lot are complete and that contractors are progressing on site regrading. He flagged deteriorated tennis-court surfaces and fencing by 17 Mile and Northland for corrective action, noting the plan may repurpose half the court space for pickleball and provide community access outside school hours.
On the greenhouse project, staff said two contractor estimates were in hand for a proposed 30-by-60-foot greenhouse; one bid was about $35,000 less than the other. Installed cost for the steel structure was estimated at roughly $125,000 and utilities (water, power and potential gas) an additional $65,000–$75,000, placing total cost near $200,000. Staff said an RFP will be required before proceeding.
Board members asked about timeline and vendor selection; staff said they will move to an RFP and return with bids and recommendations.
