Kimberly board renews Weights & Measures contract with Appleton, reappoints water‑commission member

The Village of Kimberly Board met Sept. 15, 2025, in the Rick J. Hermus Council Chambers and approved a series of routine items, including a contract renewal with the City of Appleton for Weights & Measures services and the reappointment of John Johnson to the Water Commission.
President Chuck Kuen called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Trustee Lee Hammen moved and Trustee Marcia Trentlage seconded approval of a proclamation recognizing National “See Tracks? Think Train! Week.” The board approved the proclamation by unanimous vote.
Trustee Lee Hammen moved and Trustee Norb Karner seconded approval of the minutes from the Sept. 8 meeting; the motion passed unanimously. Trustee Marcia Trentlage noted that the public‑participation portion of those minutes recorded a comment by Brad Werner that the turf restoration would be completed “by the end of the following day,” but that the work was actually finished on the following Friday; the board recorded that discrepancy.
Trustee Marcia Trentlage moved and Trustee Tom Gaffney seconded the reappointment of John Johnson to the Water Commission for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2028; the board approved the reappointment unanimously.
In new business, Trustee Norb Karner moved and Trustee Marcia Trentlage seconded a motion to approve a Weights & Measures contract renewal between the City of Appleton and the Village of Kimberly "as presented." The motion carried by unanimous vote.
The meeting included routine roll‑call attendance of department heads and staff and concluded after the listed agenda items were addressed.
