The Jemez Springs Lodgers Tax Board on Feb. 13, 2025, approved a $1,000 budget for website administration and reviewed its lodging-tax finances during a meeting at the Village Conference Room.
Board members recorded a total lodging-tax budget of $35,000 and a current balance of $13,611.70. The agenda and the minutes from the Oct. 24, 2024 meeting were approved at the start of the session.
The $1,000 allocation was approved to support the lodging and events website’s administration and maintenance. The meeting record shows the approval as "YES;" no individual mover or seconder is listed in the minutes.
Guest Fred Simmank updated the board on tourism advertising, saying that print and web placements will follow once materials are updated and that the board should expect the updated advertising to go live in about two months. Under new business, the board reviewed website materials with Simmank and discussed timing for Earth Day outreach.
Members also noted upcoming community events, including a Father’s Day car show and a July 4th celebration; any event-committee budget requests for those events remain pending. The meeting adjourned at 11:21 a.m.; James McCue is recorded as secretary of the minutes.
Next steps: routine follow-up on website updates, advertising rollout and any formal budget requests from the event committee.
