Jemez Springs: Council approved recommended code changes to sections 130-5 and 130-28, P&Z minutes say

The Village of Jemez Springs Planning & Zoning Commission was informed Feb. 27 that the Village Council approved recommended changes to municipal code sections 130-5 and 130-28 and made those changes effective immediately, Chair Betsy Daub told commissioners.
The commission’s minutes say the recommended code changes were submitted to the Village Council on Jan. 21, 2025 and approved by the council at its Feb. 25, 2025 regular meeting. The minutes do not record a council vote tally or the full text of the changes.
The P&Z scheduled a special meeting for March 13, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Josephine Shephard Memorial Building conference room to resume review of section 130-14; the minutes say any new information about demolition permits will be presented at that meeting.
During the regular meeting, Chair Daub also reported several local permit and development updates: resident Robert Sandoval has inquired about a Floodplain Development permit and Daub said she is seeking information from Floodplain Administrator Suzanne Hathon; the commission received a STOR application from Kristin Galbraith; and Daub reported that the Paracletes appear to be preparing to demolish the Chapel. The minutes do not include formal actions, votes or permit determinations on those items.
The minutes record that, “per direction from Bob Nauman who is reviewing CommNet compliance,” the commission is holding off on sending neighbor notification letters about CommNet’s Conditional Use Application. The document does not provide further detail on the substance of the CommNet application or a timetable for notices.
Commissioners present at the Feb. 27 meeting were Chair Betsy Daub, Vice Chair Sean Cridland, Secretary Talia Michelle, Cliff Elliott and Fred Simmank; Susanna Cooper was absent. The minutes note there were no public comments during the meeting. The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
