Members sought specifics about contract length, cancellation terms and measurable outcomes. One board member said they were not comfortable approving a year‑long increase without seeing the contract; another said the board could begin with the cheaper option if staff recommended it. A motion — moved by a board member and seconded — authorized renewal and the $1,500 monthly add‑on conditioned on staff verification of contract terms; the motion passed on a voice vote.
Staff said they will bring a formal contract or a more detailed proposal back to the board in October or call a special meeting if immediate action is required for an available Tecumseh site. Staff also noted potential procurement thresholds that require board approval for expenditures above certain amounts.
