River Ridge approves drainage scope changes, $15,000 irrigation change order and plans to prepay Series 2022A bond note

District Engineer Charlie Krebs presented a revised scope for the Seaside & Master Drainage Project and said Hole Montes, Inc. (MRI) expects the work to begin within two to three weeks. Mr. Krebs also presented ancillary irrigation costs from Irrigation Concepts: $4,002.50 to repair damaged wiring and approximately $1,300 each to raise seven to eight irrigation heads.
On motion by Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Bob Schultz the board approved the Irrigation Concepts change order in a not-to-exceed amount of $15,000 (vote: 5-0). Separately, Mrs. Adams presented unaudited financial statements as of Oct. 31, 2024 and noted that the Series 2022A note will be closed and funds applied to prepay bond debt; Mr. Blumenthal asked about an Oct. 1 insurance payment not appearing in the check register and staff committed to follow up.
The drainage project scope revision is intended to allow easier changes to the system while preserving original intent; staff noted there will be ancillary costs for irrigation adjustments and other site work. MRI's planned two- to three-week start date was recorded in the minutes.
