River Ridge CDD accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman; board to solicit candidates

The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expiring Nov. 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Cleo Adams, District Manager, presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. The Board noted that because the vacancy will be filled by appointment rather than election, staff will publicize the vacancy to residents. The Board asked Mr. Long and The Meadows’ property owners’ association manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, explain candidate qualification requirements, and request that interested candidates submit a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting.
The Board also noted standard onboarding requirements: administration of the oath of office, required ethics training and disclosure filing, a sample Form 1 and instructions, guidance on the Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict). Those items were to be provided in a separate package; the oath and training materials discussion was deferred to a later meeting.
On motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, the Board accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation; the motion passed unanimously among those present.
