Rogersville awards Lakeside box culvert contract and sets street maintenance plan

John Forrester of Allgeier Martin presented five bids for the Lakeside Box Culvert project at the Oct. 6 Rogersville Board of Aldermen meeting. The low bid, $280,650 from J and H Excavating, was confirmed by reference checks; Forrester and Administrator Chad Bybee inspected similar work in Branson. The project is slated to come from capital improvements and the board voted to award the contract to J and H Excavating.
Separately, after discussion of street repair recommendations, the board decided on a maintenance plan for the year: overlay David Lane, chip-and-seal Center Street, and micro-seal Shores Parkway. A contract and ordinance related to the Lakeside project will follow before construction begins.
The motion to award the culvert contract passed by roll call vote with all aldermen recorded as Aye. The board did not discuss a construction start date at the meeting; staff will return with contract documents as required.
