Superintendent (S2) told the board the calendar was revised to align with state-level calendar guidance and reflect input from the calendar committee, including adjustments to fall break and assessment windows. “This calendar is… in full compliance,” the superintendent said, adding that staff and committee members worked to balance instructional days and testing schedules.
Board members praised the calendar committee’s work and emphasized the benefit of having exams before the winter break for high school and middle school students. After a motion and a second on the record, the board voted by voice; members signified approval and the chair declared the motion carried.
Because this was a call meeting, the chair noted public comment opportunities remain at regular board meetings. The board also reminded the public that the next regular meeting is scheduled for July 27 at 6 p.m.
