Fargo Police report 17 liquor-establishment checks in past month; two over-intoxication incidents

A Fargo Police representative gave the Liquor Control Board a brief monthly enforcement update on July 15, saying officers recorded 17 incidents that generated liquor-establishment check forms over the past month.
"We received good cooperation from establishment management and ownership," the officer said, and added that over-intoxication was only noted in two incidents during the month. The officer told the board that a recent revamp of internal operating procedures increased the number of establishment checks being tracked, and that the change helps the department collect better data on dispatches and calls related to on-premises establishments.
When asked whether 17 is an average monthly number, the officer said that is about average and that the procedural change had increased counts primarily by improving tracking rather than reflecting a large change in on-premises behavior.
The board had no further questions and thanked the police representative for the update.
