Commission Counsel Bassett told the commission that Watson entered into a stipulated deferral agreement in ethics case number 24‑027C with three requirements: to obtain training, not have any complaints progress to a review panel for one year, and to assist with the office’s new gift policy. "All three of those requirements have been fulfilled by Mr. Watson," Bassett said. "I've reviewed that compliance, and I agree that he is in compliance."
Vice Chair Wallen moved to approve the proposed order of dismissal and the commission adopted the motion without recorded opposition. The dismissal follows verification by counsel that the conditions in the deferral agreement were satisfied; commissioners did not request further action.
The commission’s action on the motion closed the matter administratively; no civil penalty or additional remedies were announced by the commission at the public meeting. The commission will include the order in its case records and the office retains authority to address any future, separate complaints.
