The Trappe Town Council approved a request from Nace’s Day organizers to close Main Street from Slaughter Lane to Howell Point Road on Nov. 2 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the 157th annual Nace’s Day celebration.
Yvonne Freeman, chairman of the celebration committee, asked the council for permission to use Nace’s Park, Veterans’ Park and the open lot behind Veterans’ Park for parade staging and post-parade activities. Sgt. Aita said he would coordinate street closures with the Talbot County Sheriff's Office, and Commissioner Jeremy Newnam said the fire department has barricades that could be used.
Council members voted unanimously to approve the closure and park use as requested. No public questions or comments were recorded at the meeting.
