The Trappe Town Council unanimously adopted Resolution 4-2024 on Aug. 7 to amend the town’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan to include the Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area.
President Schmidt read the resolution during a public hearing that drew no public comment; Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan told the council the Trappe Planning Commission had reviewed the proposal and adopted its own resolution recommending the amendment. Commissioner Rose Potter moved to adopt Resolution 4-2024 and Commissioner Walter Chase seconded; the motion passed without opposition.
The change integrates the town into the Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area management plan, which the Planning Commission and County Parks and Recreation Board previously reviewed, according to meeting minutes. The council closed the hearing with no public comments and approved the resolution during the regular meeting.
