District administrators used the March 23 board meeting to remind the community about upcoming state assessments and to promote a district open-house event.
Dr. Susan Seiple outlined state assessment dates: PSSA testing for grades 3'8 in English/Language Arts is scheduled April 21'23; Math testing is scheduled April 28'29; and Science testing for grades 5 and 8 is scheduled April 30 and May 1. Keystone Assessments for Biology, Literature and Algebra I are scheduled May 12'20. Dr. Seiple emphasized scheduling and the testing window but did not report any districtwide opt-out policy changes during the meeting.
Dr. John Scola announced the district's "Innovation in Action" open house (6'8 p.m.) that evening, noting attendance by a Code to the Future representative from Chicago and staff from the Lincoln Intermediate Unit; a robo call reminder would be sent to families. Dr. Scola also noted that superintendents had dismissed early that day due to weather and reminded the public of a snow make-up day on Monday, April 6.
No policy questions or votes were taken on testing; the item was informational.
