Hanover board approves resignation, hires, leave and an expulsion waiver

HANOVER, Pa. — At its Feb. 9 meeting the Hanover Public School District board approved a series of personnel items, including a resignation, a long-term substitute hire, a teacher leave of absence and an expulsion waiver.
The board approved the resignation of Tracy Warner, secretary at Clearview Elementary, effective March 13, 2026. Mrs. Keeney moved to approve the resignation, Mr. Lippy seconded, and the motion passed on a 9-0 roll call vote.
The board next approved the employment of Jasmine Everett as a long-term substitute math teacher at Hanover High School, effective Jan. 15, 2026, at the district’s substitute pay rate. The motion was made by Mrs. Gulden, seconded by Mr. Lippy, and approved 9-0.
The board also granted an FMLA leave of absence for Melanie Hess, Grade 8 Language Arts teacher at Hanover Middle School, effective March 18, 2026, for approximately six weeks but not to exceed 12 weeks. Mrs. Shea moved the leave; Mrs. Smith seconded and the motion passed 9-0.
Finally, the board approved the enclosed expulsion waiver as presented on the agenda. Mrs. Keeney moved the action, Mrs. Gulden seconded, and the board recorded a 9-0 roll call approval.
All personnel actions were recorded as motions on the meeting agenda and approved unanimously in the minutes; the minutes do not record extended debate or individual dissenting comments.
