Hanover Public School District board approves $1.12 million in checks, accepts $112,453.64 in tax equity funds

HANOVER, Pa. — The Hanover Public School District board on Feb. 9 approved routine finance measures including check registers totaling $1,124,724.54 and accepted $112,453.64 in Tax Equity Supplement funds for the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
Board member Mrs. Shea moved to approve the check registers, which the district described as $998,578.69 from the General Fund (including athletic, middle school and high school activity accounts), $55,945.85 from the Cafeteria account and $70,200.00 from Capital Reserve, for a grand total of $1,124,724.54. Mr. Huston seconded the motion and the board approved it on a 9-0 roll call vote.
The board also approved acceptance and allocation of $112,453.64 in Tax Equity Supplement funds. According to the board item, the funds will be used to supplement amounts calculated for Farmstead and Homestead Property Tax Reduction exclusions under Section 342 of the Taxpayer Relief Act for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. Mrs. Shea moved the measure; Mrs. Rice seconded and the motion passed 9-0.
No additional discussion or public testimony on the finance items was recorded in the meeting minutes. The approvals were listed as standard agenda motions; the board did not record individual roll-call votes by name in the minutes beyond the 9-0 tallies for each item.
