"It's going to be four pickleball courts, with a 12-foot high perimeter fence," the presenter said, and staff reported the design includes three lockable gate systems and windscreens.
Lighting is the outstanding procurement item; staff said they plan to install Musco lighting but are still reviewing three vendor quotes and that public works will provide the concrete slab once engineering points are finalized. The presenter said the proposed location will remove parking spaces near Bartlett Pool and that the courts will follow the same hours as tennis courts (8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., lights off at 10:00 p.m.).
Staff said they were pushing for a construction-start timeline of about two months, pending final engineering and procurement. Committee members offered general support and suggested a possible groundbreaking event if the schedule holds.
No formal vote was taken on the court proposal during the meeting; staff said they would return with any final designs or timing updates.
