Commission approves fire apparatus purchase, multiple contracts and GDOT lighting agreements

At its July 14 meeting the Paulding County Board of Commissioners moved through a package of procurement and intergovernmental items and approved multiple motions by voice vote.
The board authorized the purchase of two pumper fire apparatuses for the fire department with a projected budget of $1,994,257.74. Commissioners also approved a contract not to exceed $97,000 with Kimberly Horn for utility relocation design services for the New Hope Corridor water and sewer project, and an annual service and support agreement with Kendall Supply Company for $67,600.
The board approved a contract with Raf Tillis not to exceed $56,285 to update the financial model for the water and sewer fund. Commissioners authorized the chairman to sign Local Government Lighting Project Agreements with the Georgia Department of Transportation for two roundabout projects (PI001964 and PI0019896) and approved an agreement to terminate the 2023 intergovernmental school-resource-officer agreement.
Board members also approved an intergovernmental agreement among the Paulding County School District, Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and Paulding County government related to school-police judicial and operational matters, and authorized the installation of 700 feet of county-supplied pipe and ancillaries on a 16-inch transmission main (Edson Underground LLC) for $61,000, funded through the renewal and extension fund.
