Commission approves consolidated site-plan amendment for Villa Rica Highway self-storage and retail
Summary

The Paulding County Board of Commissioners on July 14 approved a site-plan amendment for two properties on Villa Rica Highway that have prior zoning and special-use approvals, allowing the applicant to consolidate three cases into a single, unified site plan.
Danny Blumenthal, representing Gaskins Lacrosse, told commissioners the amendment does not change approved land uses — the approved mix of self-storage and commercial uses remains the same — but asks to consolidate the properties and to correct the conditioned plan date from April to the May 26, 2026 plan included in staff materials. "We're in agreement with all of the zoning stipulations included in staff's report with one exception...we would just like to amend the date of the plan," Blumenthal said.
Planning staff notified the board that the applicant submitted an updated plan dated 05/26/2026 and recommended amending stipulations 4 and 13 to reference the updated plan. After staff clarification, a commissioner moved to approve the application with the added stipulations and the board approved by voice vote.
The approval was administrative in nature: commissioners did not change the approved uses and directed that the amended stipulations match the May 26, 2026 site plan provided in the staff report. No public opposition to the site-plan amendment was recorded during the item.
The board continued with other consent and contract items following the approval.
