The Select Board approved several small capital requests and routine municipal items July 14, including playground improvements at Hippock Field, irrigation equipment to repair flood damage, a community‑center credit, minutes and reappointments.
A presenter asked the board to use capital-improvement funds (and portions of the Mills trust) to extend a playground pad and add three adult swings to bring the play area into compliance with code; the presenter said the not-to-exceed figure would likely be about $3,002.50. A separate request for a Kifco water reel to restore irrigation on the Little League field after flood damage was approved; staff estimated the cost at roughly $2,000–$3,000.
Nut graf: The items were presented as part of routine capital maintenance and small projects. Board members discussed which accounts—the Mills trust, capital reserves or the general capital-improvement account—would be used, and staff clarified that reserves existed for such projects.
The board also accepted a credit change order for the community center project, approved minutes as presented, and reappointed Judith Murphy to a planning alternate role and Jennifer Buren to the zoning board. Several updates under other business covered Hippock grandstand stabilization, signage proposals, surplus filing cabinets and Main Street MPI parking work.
All small capital requests passed by voice vote; the meeting record shows the motions and approvals but does not include a roll-call tally.
