At its March meeting the Newfields Select Board approved a slate of administrative items, certifications and contracts.
Appointments and MS‑2 filing: The board certified the MS‑2 report of appropriations reflecting actions taken at the March 10 town vote and approved a set of appointments and reappointments, including Tom Connors (emergency management director), John Hayden (Rockingham Planning Commission representative), Dan Blumings (conservation commission alternate), Tom Retberg and Allison Watts (conservation commission members), Holly Price (deputy town treasurer), Michael Sununu and Jeff Bainscher (planning board members/alternates). Nominations were moved and approved by voice vote.
ALS contract: The board reviewed and accepted a second‑year Advanced Life Support contract for paramedic services. Officials said the town now has about $40,000 in a trust fund to offset costs and that a local benefactor is donating a fully equipped ALS vehicle valued at more than $100,000.
Cardboard dumpster fencing: To address recurring wind scattering of cardboard at the town dumpster site, the board approved a contractor quote of $995 to install corner fencing to keep material from blowing into the bank.
Wetlands delineation: The road agent has arranged a wetlands delineation for the approved public safety building at an estimated cost of $1,000–$1,500; the board authorized the road agent to sign that contract to expedite the work as trust funds become available.
Minutes and scheduling: The board accepted minutes from Feb. 17 and set April meeting dates for April 7 and April 21.
All votes described above were taken by voice and recorded as approved; the board gave staff direction to sign and finalize contractual paperwork where appropriate.
