Raymond School District board approves ACP 'Education for Employment' plan and adopts state academic standards for 2026'27

The board heard a presentation from Miss Klein, the district's school health counselor, who said the ACP plan is "mandatory under Wisconsin statute 20 PI 26" and is built around a student-driven process. She described the district's use of the online tool Xello for grades 6 through 12, with career-readiness lessons provided to all middle-school students and career lessons offered to elementary grades.
"Everyone grades a 100% of the middle school students 6 through 8 participate in career development lessons using Xello," Miss Klein said, adding the plan includes individualized supports for students with IEPs and 504 plans and a goal to expand career-week activities and business partnerships.
Board members discussed the plan and an accompanying update given earlier in the meeting. A board member moved to adopt the state academic standards and later moved to approve the ACP/E4E plan "as written for Raymond School District number 14 for the 2026-2027 school year." Both motions carried by voice vote. The administration said the district must report the approved plan to the state.
Why it matters: The ACP/E4E plan lays out how the district will document career preparation and tie classroom work to postsecondary options and employment pathways. The board's adoption of the state standards sets the academic framework teachers will use next year.
