DPW outlines FEMA roadwork, Lugano project and equipment needs

He said the Lugano project is scheduled to begin Monday and that Simplywater personnel will be on site to coordinate work. "So that is that's onboard," he said.
Jeff also described equipment issues affecting operations. He said a John Deere machine shows a hydraulic‑warning light and that the department has asked a local service provider to assess whether a warranty tech visit is required. "I'm waiting to hear back from them this afternoon," he said.
The DPW flagged recurring maintenance costs: vehicle servicing, filter changes and other routine repairs. Jeff urged residents not to blow yard debris into ditch lines because it clogs pipes and accelerates road damage. "The ditch isn't a spot to put your leaves," he said, and the crew asked commissioners to collect house numbers if they document repeat offenders.
The DPW also described logistics for hauling material to the Phil site in Albany and discussed truck availability and round‑trip times, saying additional drivers or coordination with a private hauler may be needed.
No formal vote was required; commissioners acknowledged the report and asked staff to follow up on equipment quotes and coordination with contractors.
The board moved on to administrative business after the DPW update.
