Council approves consent items, appoints member to Puente Hills advisory committee and OKs $75,000 settlement

At its March 10 meeting the Whittier City Council approved the Consent Calendar with two items pulled for separate consideration.
Item 8.D: Council Member Mary Ann Pacheco moved and Council Member Cathy Warner seconded the appointment of Laura Krueger to the Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority Citizens Technical Advisory Committee for a term expiring in February 2030; the motion carried unanimously.
Other consent items approved included waiving further reading of resolutions/ordinances, approval of the Feb. 10 minutes, denial of listed claims against the city, acceptance of the Youngwood Drive Slope Project notice of completion, and approval of several public-art and mural items as listed in the record.
Closed session (Item 12.F): City Clerk Rigoberto Garcia Jr. reported that on Item 12.F (Mike Ibarra v. City of Whittier) Council Member Pacheco moved and Council Member Warner seconded approving a $75,000 compromise and release settlement; the motion passed unanimously.
